Construction on Phase D2 (from N. 11th Street to Channelside Drive) of the Channel District Improvements Project is scheduled to begin in late June/July 2025. The project includes drainage and roadway improvements, and pedestrian area upgrades. This phase of the project is expected to be complete in spring 2026. During construction on Phase D2, sidewalk and single-lane closures will be in place on E. Whiting Street, with detours to route pedestrians and travelers around the work zone.
Starting Monday, February 7, 2022, construction of the N. 11th Street Improvements (Phase E2) will begin relating to the Channel District Improvements Project. The project includes roadway and water infrastructure improvements as well as new landscaping and irrigation. This phase of the project is expected to be complete in mid-summer of 2022.
